August 23rd, 2024, Jakarta, Indonesia - NPCT1 welcomed KMTC new VGI2 (Vietnam Gulf India Express 2) service.
The new VGI2 service operated by KMTC which follows the route of Cai Mep - Jakarta - Port Klang - Mundra - Jebel Ali - Dammam - Mundra - Port Klang - Laem Chabang, is a consortium with 6 other liners namely ESL, CMA CGM, RCL, CUL, GFS, and PIL. KMTC's new service will provide cargo owners with more shipping options, featuring competitive transit times and supporting the fast-growing import and export activities in Southeast Asian markets.
M.V. Tessa v. 2404W, which made her maiden call at NPCT1 with voyage handling throughput of approximately 1,800 boxes, berthed in the morning of August 23rd, 2024 and sailed off NPCT1 the next morning.
The launch of this new VGI2 service was celebrated with presentation of a plaque from NPCT1's management team to the KMTC Owner Rep in Indonesia.
